This is a national strategy aimed at improving numeracy and literacy standards of adults. Courses are offered in Literacy and Numeracy, as separate curriculum areas, working towards a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in each area. Level 1 qualifications are equivalent to GCSE grades D – F and Level 2 equates to Grades A – C. We can deliver these courses within NVQ workshops or as stand-alone sessions.

The aims of the courses are to improve the literacy and numeracy skills of learners, to support the requirements of the NVQ courses, and also to improve skills and confidence with work-based tasks. Courses delivered alongside the NVQ qualification will be integrated into the planned workshop hours and stand-alone sessions will generally be 1-2 hours long, depending on candidate availability. The course content is tailored to the needs of the learners and can be as specific or general as the learner requires.
